(Ua) Air and (Uc) electrical lines and connectors: I will check my Air lines and electrical cord from the back of the truck to the front of the trailer. They are properly mounted and secure, not cracked, damaged or loose. My air lines have no abrasions bulges or cuts, I hear no audible leaks and the (Ub) glad hands and seals are intact. The (Uc) electrical cord is not cut or frayed and has no illegal splices. It is connected at both ends by pigtails.
U1 – Apron: properly mounted and secure, not cracked damaged or loose. No illegal welds.
U2 – Fifth wheel skid plate: properly mounted and secure, not cracked damaged or loose, and it’s properly greased.
U3 – Gap: There is no gap between the fifth wheel skid plate and the apron.
U4 – Platform: properly mounted and secure, not cracked damaged or loose.
U5 – Mount/ slide mount: properly mounted and secure, not cracked damaged or loose, all bolts are present and tight, none are missing.
U6 – Locking pin (sliding fifth wheel): Locking pin is in the locked position. (U8) Air actuated, air lines and cylinder properly mounted and secure. Not leaking.
U7 – Release arm: properly mounted and secure, not cracked damaged or loose, they are in the fully locked position.
U9 – Kingpin: properly mounted and secure, not cracked damaged or loose, not bent and no illegal welds.
U10 – Locking jaws: properly mounted and secure, not cracked damaged or loose. The locking jaws are securely locked around the kingpin.
U11 – Proper distance: Check to have enough clearance between your landing gear and mud flaps to safely make a turn.
